Stay the Course
My contribution to Dan Gneiding‘s type specimen book for his new typeface, Ribbon.
After some initial concepting, I decided to approach things a little differently and create my own letterforms out of the supplied border elements. I chose the military phrase, “Stay the Course” and set it in a way that looks like a maze or path taking many challenging twists and turns — (“Stay the course” is a phrase used in the context of a war or battle meaning to pursue a goal regardless of any obstacles or criticism.)
The black, red, and blue variation is my original which you can grab as a wallpaper. The blue, white, and orange is the version used in the printed specimen book which you can get if you spend $30 or more on the typeface.
